"Want to know the reason behind murder": Saurabh Rajput's parents appeal to PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM
Rajput's mother also demanded that they want to see their granddaughter and raise her, fearing for the child's safety. «I want justice, I want to give the death penalty to the culprits. I would like to appeal to PM Modi and CM Yogi (Adityanath) that a thorough investigation should be held in the case and justice should prevail. Whether the investigation happens through crime branch or CBI. I want to know each and everything, the reason behind the murder. What they talked about, why the fight happened, I want the solution to everything,» Rajput's mother told on Saturday. Saurabh Rajput was working in the merchant navy and was allegedly murdered by his wife and her partner Sahil on March 4. His body had been cut up and hidden in a drum, covering it with cement. Reportedly, Muskan's father, Pramod, played a crucial role in cracking the case. While taking Muskan to the police station, Pramod stopped the scooter and urged her to tell the truth. Muskan then confessed to the crime, revealing that she and her friend had killed Saurabh Rajput together.

Trump deporting people at a slower rate than Biden's last year in office
Donald Trump deported 37,660 people during his first month in office, previously unpublished U.S. Department of Homeland Security data show, far less than the monthly average of 57,000 removals and returns in the last full year of Joe Biden's administration. A senior Trump administration official and experts said deportations were poised to rise in coming months as Trump opens up new avenues to ramp up arrests and removals. DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said Biden-era deportation numbers appeared «artificially high» because of higher levels of illegal immigration.

Honey trap row explained: How obscene videos of nearly 50 politicians, judges sparked turmoil in Karnataka
Rajanna’s admission followed accusations from former BJP Minister V Sunil Kumar, who accused the Congress government of orchestrating what he called a «honey trap factory,» reported TOI. BJP legislator Basanagouda Patil Yatnal further said that a senior Congress politician was involved in the matter. According to the Oxford dictionary, 'honey trap' or 'honey trapping' refers to «a strategy where an attractive person, often a woman, uses romantic or sexual relationships to gain information or influence from a target, potentially for political, monetary, or personal gain.» Rajanna’s statements caused an uproar in the assembly, and during the debate, BJP lawmakers stormed into the well of the House, demanding a judicial inquiry into the matter. Rajanna claimed that not only had he been targeted, but other politicians were also victims of similar traps, leading to the claim that 48 politicians from different political parties, including Congress, BJP, and JDS, had been involved in the scandal.

Grabbing minor's breasts, breaking pyjama strings does not qualify as attempt to rape: Allahabad High Court
Allahabad High Court ruled that grabbing a minor girl’s breasts, breaking her pyjama strings, and trying to drag her beneath the culvert is not enough to charge an accused with the offence of rape or an attempt to rape. It described such an act as 'aggravated sexual assault’, TOI reported. Making this observation, the high court modified a summoning order, altering the charges against two accused. The accused were earlier summoned to face trail under section 376 (rape) and under the POCSO Act. However, now the accused will be tried under the section 354(B) IPC (assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe) and POCSO Act (aggravated sexual assault). «The allegations levelled against the accused Pawan and Akash and the facts of the case hardly constitute an offence of attempt to rape in the case. In order to bring out a charge of attempt to rape the prosecution must establish that it had gone beyond the stage of preparation. The difference between preparation and actual attempt to commit an offence consists chiefly in the greater degree of determination,” a bench of Justice Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra observed, as it partly allowed the criminal revision plea filed by the three accused. As per the prosecution, the accused Pawan and Akash grabbed the breasts of the 11-year-old victim and one of them broke the string of her pyjama and tried to drag her beneath the culvert.
