Vijay Dewan: During the year which is ahead of us, we are going to add about 238 rooms, out of which 52 rooms are going to be added in the palace category, the Ran Bass Palace by the Park at Patiala and the Chettinad Palace by the Park at Chettinad and additional hotels. And these palace hotels are high average room rate hotels and this is going to significantly drive our growth going forward.

World Designing Forum, one of the world's largest global fashion community, has announced the setting up of India's first Handloom Cluster and Apparel Designing Park in Agra. This initiative is poised to redefine the landscape of fashion by showcasing designer garments made from handlooms across India, particularly targeting the influx of foreign tourists visiting Agra each year, the Forum said in a statement. The park, located at the famous «I Love Agra Selfie Point,» is a collaborative effort between RVA and the World Designing Forum. The park is set up with natural threads and handlooms. Recently, the Agra Development Authority announced organisation of weekly programs at this point, leading to the construction of a temporary apparel park, with RVA winning the contract. Meanwhile, the World Designing Forum said that a World Couture League has been formed to promote handloom on an international scale. It will organize annual competitions in handloom designing among 20 Indian states. The league includes notable figures in the country such as industrialist Puran Dawar, Dr. Ranjana Bansal, and Shekhar Dikshit. Member of the National Core Committee, Shekhar Dikshit, disclosed plans for similar handloom parks in Jaipur, Goa, and Kanyakumari, following the success of the initiative in Agra.

Omkara ARC has acquired Park Hyatt Hyderabad's loans for ₹300 crore from lenders at a 34% discount from sellers that included BlackRock and JM Financial. The all-cash deal involved Omkara paying ₹300 crore to buy the ₹450 crore principal outstanding of Park Hyatt in Hyderabad, a 5-star luxury hotel consisting of more than 200 rooms including 25 suites and 40 serviced apartments in Hyderabad. The total debt outstanding including interest and principal is ₹700 crore. «Omkara has bought hotel debt from JM Financial and BlackRock at 66% of the debt,» said a source. «The transaction involved acquiring the NCDs from lenders.» Spokespersons of both Omkara ARC and JM Financial did not respond to requests for comment immediately while BlackRock could not be reached immediately for comment.

Pierce Brosnan, who pleaded guilty to stepping off a trail in a thermal area during a November visit to Yellowstone National Park, was caught after posting pictures online, court records said. Brosnan, who called in to the court hearing in Mammoth, Wyoming, on Thursday, was fined USD 500 and ordered to make a USD 1,000 donation by April 1 to Yellowstone Forever, a nonprofit organization that supports the park, court records said. Prosecutors had recommended a USD 5,000 fine and a two-year probationary sentence. A second petty offense, for violating closures and use limits, was dismissed by US Magistrate Judge Stephanie Hambrick. The actor issued an apology on his Instagram account Thursday, saying he «made an impulsive mistake» and calling himself an environmentalist with «the utmost respect for and love of our natural world.»

Adani Green Energy (AGEL) on Monday said it has operationalized 1,000 MW (1 GW) of the 30,000 MW Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. With this, the AGEL has achieved operational capacity of 9,478 MW and continues its journey to the stated goal of 45,000 MW by 2030, reported PTI, citing the company statement. AGEL delivered 1,000 MW in less than 12 months of commencing work at Khavda, it stated.

South African Cheetah 'Gamini' has given birth to five cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur. An announcement in this regard was made by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav on Sunday. The Union Minister said that the total number of Indian-born Cheetah cubs has gone up to 13.

Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Saturday morning, an official said. Modi, on his maiden visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, first took the elephant safari in Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range of the park followed by the jeep safari inside the same range. He was accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials. The prime minister had arrived at Kaziranga on Friday evening on a two-day visit to the state.

Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels on Monday reported a 46% year-on-year (YoY) growth in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 2023 to Rs 27.42 crore. Consolidated revenue from operations increased by nearly 14% YoY to Rs 159 crore.
