Provident Progressive Platform security Universities cover social Labour ministry working on comprehensive policy to provide social security cover to gig workers: Mandaviya
Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Sunday. Some of the measures that are being put in place include registration of gig and platform workers on the eShram portal and formal recognition of such workers under the Social Security Code. Mandaviya took a comprehensive review on the existing provisions for gig and platform workers and progress on the government’s vision for a universal social security as outlined in the Social Security Code. Labour secretary Sumita Dawra attended the meeting along with other senior officials of the ministry.

Despite financial obstacles, her determination led her to Pune's Gun for Glory Academy in 2017, with her father’s tireless efforts aiding her progress. Under the mentorship of Jai Prakash Nautiyal, Rubina's talent quickly became evident. This led to her selection at the MP Shooting Academy, where her skills flourished under renowned coach Jaspal Rana, earning her first international medal. A significant turning point in her career came during the 2018 France World Cup, where she realized the importance of securing a Paralympic quota, prompting her to intensify her training efforts.

Vistara said on Friday that its aircraft and passengers will be handled by Air India from November 12, as the merger of the two Tata Group-owned airlines comes closer with Singapore Airlines (SIA) getting approval from the Indian government for acquiring a 25.1% stake in the erstwhile state-run carrier. «Starting 3 September, customers will, progressively, no longer be able to make bookings with Vistara for travel on or after 12 November. All Vistara aircraft thereafter will be operated by Air India and bookings for the routes operated by these aircraft will be redirected to Air India's website. Vistara will continue to take bookings and operate flights as usual till 11 November 2024,» Vistara said in a statement Friday. Tata Sons owns a 51% stake in Vistara, while SIA holds 49%. Air India is currently owned fully by Tata Sons.
