Diesel sales in India fell for the second straight month in September as rains dampened demand and slowed industrial activity in some parts of the country, preliminary data of state-owned firms showed. While diesel sales by three state-owned fuel retailers fell year-on-year in the first half of September, petrol sales were up marginally. Consumption of diesel, the most consumed fuel in the country accounting for about two-fifths of the demand, fell 5.8 per cent to 2.72 million tonnes between September 1 and 15, compared to the year-ago period. UPS Lowe's Booking show Mysterious Marrakech sky: Exploring the riddle of 'Earthquake Lights' & their unexplained appearance
Marrakech, Morocco, shared videos recorded before the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the area Friday, showing unidentified lights in the sky. The bizarre aerial phenomena are known as earthquake lights and seem to occur above sites of seismic stress. «People have wondered about them forever,» said Karen Daniels, a physicist at North Carolina State University. «It's one of those persistent mysteries that hang around and never quite get nailed.» Earthquake lights are difficult to study because earthquakes are impossible to predict. Without knowing when or where they will occur, researchers don't know where to place sensitive equipment that can detect them. Some experts doubt they're associated with earthquakes at all, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. But accounts of these lights go back centuries, said John Ebel, a seismologist at Boston College who wrote a book on the history of earthquakes in the northeastern United States. In a study in 2014, researchers found reports of aerial luminous phenomena from 65 earthquakes occurring in Europe and the Americas during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. People have reported a variety of kinds of earthquake lights, ranging from glows high in the sky to low on the horizon. Some last up to minutes; others flash on and off like lightning. They've also been seen in different colors.

UPS MET DISH show classical rave London's culinary classics: Unravelling the unique connection between curry, crime, and the Criterion
The Times of India reported it “was crowded by the representatives of almost every phase of London’s life”. It was meant to be a meeting point for anyone interested in India — and Indian food. Even after curry houses started opening across Britain, serving their versions of Indian food, the India Club’s restaurant was known for more authentic desi food. But time, and London’s soaring real estate market, have caught up with the India Club, and it is due to close today. This is sad, but no reflection on the popularity of real Indian food in the UK, as another opening shows. Masala Zone, an outpost of the UK restaurant group partly led by Indian hospitality legend Camellia Panjabi, has opened at The Criterion, one of the city’s most fabled restaurant locations.

Ripple Progressive Manufacturing show stage country World adapts to Fed’s rate order in 36-hour sequence
Starting with the Federal Reserve on Wednesday and ending with the Bank of Japan two days later, monetary policy will be determined at key meetings across half of the Group of 20. Advanced-economy central banks, accounting for six of the 10 most-traded currencies, may draw particular focus as global policymakers adapt to the theme US officials set out at Jackson Hole in August: that rates are likely to stay higher for longer. All evidence suggests inflation isn’t fully tamed across much of the world, and the ongoing rise in crude oil prices is stoking worries of yet more pressure. So no-one will dare to declare that their job is done, even amid the prospect that central banks in countries from the UK to Switzerland on Thursday could open the door to a pause, as happened last week in the euro zone. Setting the tone for all of them will be new projections from the Paris-based OECD on Tuesday. With weak demand from China depressing global trade, and the outlines of a stagflationary scenario forming in Europe, the apparent resilience of the US economy could prove the only bright spot. That backdrop may prompt the Fed itself to keep rates on hold, but maybe pencil in another increase for later this year. What Bloomberg Economics Says: “We think the FOMC will strike a balanced tone at its Sept.
