Nana Patekar recently discussed his struggle with anger issues during a conversation with his Parinda and Welcome co-star, Anil Kapoor. Known for his temper, Nana’s on-set confrontations and off-screen controversies have often drawn attention. Anil suggested that Nana work on improving his public image. Nana argued that he retaliates only when provoked, referring to a recent viral video where he allegedly struck someone on the set of Vanvaas.
During an interview with Anil Kapoor, Legends Unplugged, Nana Patekar was questioned about the roots of his anger. The Krantiveer actor clarified that his reactions stem from others' misbehaviour, not inherent anger. Anil advised resolving conflicts with love instead of violence, but Nana countered that love requires a receptive state, which isn’t possible when dealing with intoxicated individuals. Kapoor expressed concern that Nana’s temper could deter filmmakers, urging him to change his image. However, now 74, Nana doubted whether such a change was possible at his age.
The discussion also touched on Nana’s avoidance of Bollywood parties. Nana explained he prefers to drink at home, avoiding unpleasant encounters at parties that could escalate into altercations. Reflecting on his childhood, Nana shared in a previous interview that he might have inherited his temper from his abusive mother, who was physically violent and showed no grief, even after the tragic death of his brother during their youth. She passed away recently at the age of 99.
