Rio de Janeiro is currently in a major fix due to the increasing monkeypox cases in the city, which is now becoming a rising concern for health officials across the country. Thousands of cases have been detected till now and is increasing by the day.
Local reports have claimed that a sum total of 3,800 reports of monkeypox virus transmission have been made with seven new confirmed cases in August, according to a DailyStar UK report.
The symptoms of the monkeypox cases being observed in Brazil include sore rashes which can begin breaking out from the face or the genitals, and then keep spreading to other parts of the body. Fever, chills, body aches and tiredness, are some common symptoms of monkeypox cases, which is seen in other parts of the world as well, when such incidents occur.

According to Daily Star, there have been more than 1,200 cases in Rio de Janeiro since 2022, and the numbers are currently surging, causing major worry among Brazilians, and also foreign tourists who visit the country mostly during summers and autumn.
If reports are to be believed, Rio de Janeiro's number of monkeypox cases are still quite behind Sao Paolo but the World Health Organization has already declared the current situation as a critical emergency in the country, owing to the fact that the total number of cases in the country is on a steady rise.
