Boeing and the Learning Links Foundation have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking Veteran Skilling Program tailored for Indian Army veterans stationed in Ladakh.
In collaboration with the non-profit organization LLF and backed by Boeing’s funding, this initiative is designed to equip ex-Indian Army servicemen in Ladakh with essential employment skills, enabling their seamless integration into the local workforce.
Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India, expressed the company’s unwavering commitment to supporting veterans and building capabilities in India’s aerospace and defense sector. Boeing’s partnership with LLF aims to align with the Skill India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision of the government.
Colonel RS Parihar, Commandant of the Ladakh Scouts Regiment (LSRC), joined Salil Gupte and other esteemed dignitaries to announce this program during a ceremony in Ladakh.
Major General (Retired) Ajay Singh Chauhan, Managing Director of the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO), Delhi, emphasized the significance of the Boeing-funded skilling program in supporting Indian Army veterans.
This comprehensive training program will encompass both technical and non-technical coursework, including practical skills training and soft skills development to prepare veterans for diverse industries. The inaugural batch is scheduled to commence in October 2023.
Sudeep Dube, Senior Vice President of LLF, highlighted the program’s history of supporting veterans, their families, and war widows across India, expressing pride in extending this initiative to a regiment known for its bravery and valor.
