What is India’s vision for the private space industry? Are we aiming to build a niche or capture a significant share of the global market?
Today, we are already among the top five countries in technical capabilities for space. I wouldn’t say we are directly competing with China or the US yet, but compared to any other country, we are in the same ballpark. There may be some areas where other nations are ahead and some where we have an edge, but we are closing the gap. Five years from now, the picture could look very different.
What are the government’s key priorities for the private space sector?
We are focusing on areas where India has a clear advantage, where we can offer better, more affordable, and technically superior solutions. We have identified four key areas: Small Satellite Launches,Small Satellite Manufacturing & Design, Ground Stations for Satellite Communications and Space Applications & Data Services.These will create new business opportunities and strengthen our position
