CNN will premiere King Charles, a primetime limited series on November 29, at 10 PM ET. The show will be hosted by Gayle King and Charles Barkley.
King Charles will be an hour-long talk show where the hosts will be engaging with each other and their guests and audience in very lively and genuine talks about the most intriguing events, topics, and cultural themes of the week.
The promotion of the show showed the host Gayle King calling the show “our unfiltered take on the biggest stories of the day.”
She said that the cable news show will feature both the in-studio and remote guests that will have important, serious and often funny conversations. «It will feel like you are spending time together like friends,» she added.
It is worth mentioning that Gayle King is also the co-host of CBS Mornings. She is an accomplished TV journalist, and has contributed original reporting to CBS Mornings and all CBS News programs and platforms.
Moreover, she is also conducting interviews of prominent newsmakers. She also serves as Oprah Daily's editor-at-large and broadcasts the live radio program Gayle King in the House on SiriusXM once a week.
The original idea for the show came about under Chris Licht's leadership, the former head of CNN who was ousted in June. Licht had tried to bolster the network's prime time line-up with big-name talent, even if it meant a once-a-weekly primetime programme.
