In an interview with NDTV Profit, Yash Agarwal, Vice Admiral at LJS, reminisced about how their company was established more than 100 years ago.
«My grandfather's grandfather started the Lallooji tenting business. In 1920, Jawaharlal Nehru invited Lallooji to Delhi to put up tents. Now the family has split the business and there are seven Lallooji companies,” he explained.
Lallooji and Sons (LJS), currently managed by Ajay and Yash Agarwal, has been a cornerstone in orchestrating the infrastructure for the Kumbh Mela, one of the world's largest religious gatherings. Their contributions encompass approximately 95% of the tents, temporary accommodations, VIP lodgings, and expansive pandals spread over the 4,000-hectare festival area. Affiliated enterprises, including Lallooji & Brothers and Lallooji Tent House, also play significant roles in these endeavors.
