Myntra on Thursday announced a collaboration with the Apparel Group to introduce Anne Klein's high-end handbag collection to India's expanding luxury market.
The launch coincides with the retailer's upcoming sale, “Big Fashion Festival” starting on October 7.
“Anne Klein’s classic handbag range will mark its foray into the Indian market with Myntra, one of India’s most popular destinations for international brands,” said Myntra in a press release.
As part of the upcoming sales, Anne Klein will offer 100+ options to choose from, ranging across products such as totes, slings, and other popular types of handbags, to begin with.
The brand will add another 150+ compelling options on Myntra by the end of the month, said Myntra.
Anne Klein offers a wide range of products internationally, including apparel, shoes, handbags, and jewellery.
“We are excited to strengthen our international portfolio of accessories and handbags with the addition of Anne Klein.
Being a legacy American brand that is synonymous with timeless classics, Anne Klein’s assortment of handbags are widely-revered for their versatility,” said Tushar Ved, President of Apparel Group India Pvt Ltd.
Anne Klein's visibility on Myntra will be augmented with an Online Brand Store (OBS).
More than a dozen luxury consumer goods brands are entering the country ahead of the festive season, as they look to attract consumers in a market riding on the growing affluence of Indians with higher incomes, spurring greater discretionary spending even in small towns.
The trend is being driven by increased exposure to global trends, younger people buying luxury products, and a post-pandemic boom, all of which are stoking interest from western luxury brands, executives said.
