Old racist tweets by Emilia Perez star Karla Sofia Gascon targeting BTS incite ARMY fury, despite apology
Emilia Perez itself has been nominated for the Best Picture. But lately, she is in the news regarding her old X tweets that have resurfaced, some dating back to 2016. The tweets were racist in nature, and although the star has now apologized for her since-deleted posts, fans of the popular Korean boy band BTS are in rage.

What did Karla Sofia Gascon write about BTS?
One of her tweets that sparked outrage targeted BTS in a racist tone. The tweet said, “I’m fed up with the fact that every time I go looking for important news on Twitter, I get 200 of the f*cking Chinese BTS or 200 touching their d*cks.”
In her other controversial tweets, she defamed Islam, demanding the religion to be banned. She also targeted the culture, language and dress of Muslims in her native country Spain. Furthermore, her comments on George Floyd, whose death sparked the famous Black Lives Matter movement, called the African-American “a drug addict and a hustler”
