Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market rises

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 4.59%), Jyothy Labs(up 3.79%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 2.27%), P & G Hygiene(up 2.02%), Hindustan Foods(up 1.44%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.94%), Adani Wilmar(up 0.41%), Heritage Foods(up 0.39%), Gillette India(up 0.12%) and Prataap Snacks(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers. ADF Foods(down 6.63%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.27%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 2.16%), Varun Beverages(down 1.75%), Parag Milk(down 1.48%), Marico(down 1.28%), Emami(down 1.20%), Dangee Dums(down 1.10%), Umang Dairies(down 0.90%) and Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.79%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 66.45 points up at 19389.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 274.0 points at 65479.05. Bajaj Finance(up 7.19%), Bajaj Finserv(up 5.8%), Hero MotoCorp(up 4.52%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.37%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.77%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.56%), NTPC(up 1.46%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.2%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.12%) and Wipro(up 1.11%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
