Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises
Ashapura Minechem(up 8.72%), 20 Microns(up 1.10%), Lexus Granito(up 0.99%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.78%), Coal India(up 0.50%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.35%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.31%) stood among the top gainers. MOIL(down 1.23%), Pokarna(down 0.78%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.67%), KIOCL(down 0.36%) and Aro Granite Industries(down 0.11%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 146.0 points up at 19979.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 474.46 points at 67571.9. ITC(up 2.78%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.64%), ICICI Bank(up 2.28%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.26%), Cipla(up 2.0%), Grasim Industries(up 1.98%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.72%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.62%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.47%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.46%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
