Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls
KIOCL(up 5.22%), Pokarna(up 2.29%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.30%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.97%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.77%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.18%) and Coal India(up 0.02%) were among the top gainers. Aro Granite Industries(down 1.70%), MOIL(down 1.42%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.44%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 2.8 points up at 19600.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 7.0 points at 65946.48 at around 10:04AM. Hero MotoCorp(up 2.92%), Cipla(up 2.43%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.8%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.61%), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.85%), State Bank of India(up 0.76%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.73%), Wipro(up 0.66%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.63%) and Tata Motors(up 0.45%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
