Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises
20 Microns(up 4.26%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.38%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.29%), MOIL(up 1.25%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.94%), Coal India(up 0.24%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.18%) and KIOCL(up 0.13%) stood among the top gainers. Pokarna(down 2.25%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.96%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.17%) and Lexus Granito(down 0.13%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 97.7 points up at 19778.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 351.49 points at 66707.2. Larsen & Toubro(up 3.33%), ITC(up 2.15%), Britannia Industries(up 2.01%), Reliance Industries(up 1.63%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.55%), Axis Bank(up 1.49%), Cipla(up 1.3%), Infosys(up 1.07%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.06%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.04%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
