Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.26%

Shares of Federal Bank Ltd.(up 4.91 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 2.25 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.7 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.54 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.51 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 4.86 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.7 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 1.26 per cent up at 51816.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 163.71 points at 25127.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 591.69 points at 81973.05.
