Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.29% in a weak market
IDFCBANK(up 2.86 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 2.73 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.78 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.49 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers. Bandhan Bank(down 4.56 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 3.01 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.82 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.34 per cent) and Axis Bank(down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.29 per cent at 45171.15 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 18.15 points at 19370.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 98.26 points at 65380.79.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, PNB, IDFC First Bank and Motherson Sumi were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Genus Pwr Infra, HPL Electric Power, MRPL, Swelect Energy and Shivalik Bimetal hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bombay Metrics Suppl, Penta Gold, Cell Point(India), Vilin Bio Med Ltd. and Goldstar Power hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
