Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.02% in an upbeat market

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 2.45 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.97 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 0.76 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.54 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers. Biocon(down 3.88 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.51 per cent), Cipla(down 0.85 per cent), Abbott India(down 0.69 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.02 per cent at 14277.1 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 12.5 points at 19757.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 40.64 points at 66724.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Utkarsh Small Financ and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kriti Nutrients, Sarveshwar Foods, Aarti Drugs, Utkarsh Small Financ and D.K. Enterprises Glo hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanwaria Consumer, Zee Learn, Setubandhan Infra, Pentagon Rubber and Drone Destination hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
