Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.79% in a weak market

Coforge Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 2.97 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 2.39 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.79 per cent at 42097.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 262.16 points at 25534.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 863.45 points at 83402.84.
