Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index 1.37%

Shares of Biocon Ltd.(up 6.15 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.5 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 3.7 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 2.78 per cent) and Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 2.7 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.56 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.37 per cent at 22203.90.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 90.1 points at 23176.05, while the BSE Sensex stood 169.62 points at 76499.63.
