Cipla(up 8.75 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 4.71 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 3.79 per cent), Lupin(up 3.36 per cent) and Granules India(up 3.02 per cent) were among the top gainers. Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 2.75 per cent at 14876.15 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.55 points at 19781.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 51.98 points at 66655.22.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
