Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.33% in an upbeat market
Biocon(up 2.38 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.68 per cent), Lupin(up 1.21 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.86 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(up 0.86 per cent) were among the top gainers. Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.6 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.6 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.43 per cent), Abbott India(down 0.41 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.33 per cent at 13940.95 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 35.2 points at 19474.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 114.79 points at 65732.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red. Shares of Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Zomato and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
