Simon Kinberg has offered a glimpse into how Sugar Season 2 would distinguish itself from the first. Speaking with Den of Geek, Kinberg hinted at a more intimate and personal journey for the lead character.

Kinberg expressed optimism about the potential for Sugar Season 2. «I would start for a hope that we have a season 2,» he said. «That’s not official yet. We’re all hopeful for it and everybody loved working on this, and we feel like we have a lot more story to tell with this character. Fingers crossed, we get Season 2!”, as mentioned in a report by Coming Soon.

Delving into the differences between the two seasons, Kinberg explained that the new season would focus more on John Sugar's personal journey. «I think it would be an opportunity to continue Sugar to figure out where he fits into planet Earth,» Kinberg said, as per a report by Coming Soon.
«In season 1, he was here on a mission and part of a community of people like him. Now he does not have a stated mission from his community; he has the mystery of wanting to figure out his family.»
