This is the crux of a poll that was conducted by Emerson College in the month of May. It was commissioned by The Common Good which is a non-partisan and a pro-democracy organization. The survey highlighted the voter’s frustration with the current political situation in the country. This has been reported by The Hill. The survey contains the responses of 1000 registered voters on various issues of national importance.
One key finding of the survey is that 69% of the respondents felt that the government was a divided house and was no longer serving the interest of the Americans. Over 75% of them also added that political leaders promote and encourage societal divisions to further their own political interest rather than building consensus and unity, which are key indicators of national prosperity.
