Shiv Sena (Shinde) and the Nationalist Congress party (Ajit Pawar) are engaged in tough negotiations with the Bharatiya Janata Party as the two have told the latter that the 8 and 3 Lok Sabha seats being offered to them is not acceptable to them. The issue might take two more days to get resolved as the leaders of the three parties are likely to go to Delhi to finalise a seat sharing deal. The Shiv Sena is seeking at least three more seats whereas Ajit Pawar is seeking two more than that offered by the BJP.
The leaders of the two allies have already begun publicly making noises about getting more seats.
On Thursday Ramdas Kadam, a Shiv Sena leader warned the BJP claiming that it was trying to hurt the Shiv Sena's interests by claiming a number of seats at its expense. «The BJP should not cut the throats of those (Shiv Sena) who have trusted and come with you.
Whatever is happening in the state is not good..everyone wants to spread their party but one should not go all out while doing so, this will send a bad message for the future (to other BJP allies).»said Kadam.
Kadam publicly airing his grouse comes after the BJP is seeking to contest in at least 4 seats that is currently with the Shiv Sena. The response from the BJP to Kadam's claim that the BJP is cutting the throat of its allies has been unusually blunt.
" I know Kadam for several years, he has a habit of making such outrageous statements, we have always respected Shiv Sena, he should remember that we(BJP) are 115 Mlas but we made Eknath Shinde the Chief Minister because we were happy that the real Shiv Sena came with us. «said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
