National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking the vacation of the court's earlier directions that had effectively stayed the auditing regulator's 2020 orders against former auditors of IL&FS Financial Services (IFIN). Supreme Court Wednesday directed police and civil authorities in Haryana and Delhi to ensure no hate speech is rendered or violence breaks out during rallies proposed to be taken out by right-wing Hindu groups including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to protest against the communal violence that broke out in Nuh in Haryana. A bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna, however, refused to stay a proposed VHP rally on Wednesday. State Bank of India (SBI) has taken PC Jeweller to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) with a plea to initiate insolvency proceedings against the city-based jewellery manufacturer and retailer claiming a default. A Delhi-based principal bench of NCLT had issued a notice to PC Jeweller last week directing it to file a reply over the plea filed by its financial creditor SBI under section 7 of the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code.
