We are running a very limited time festive campaign for a brief period where we are giving a general discount of Rs 5,000 to every customer and higher discount of Rs 25,000 to only a few customers and that too only with very limited inventories,» the company said in a filing to the exchanges. Blinkit, the quick-commerce arm of food delivery major Zomato, has rolled out 10-minute returns for footwear and clothing categories. “Customers can initiate a return/ exchange in case of a size or fit issue with the delivered product. This solves a crucial problem of size anxiety for categories like clothing and footwear,” Albinder Dhindsa, chief executive of Blinkit, wrote in a post on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). Dhindsa said that the Zomato-owned platform has been testing the return feature in Delhi NCR for a few weeks and has now enabled it for Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune, with plans to expand to more cities soon.

Jharkhand assembly elections will be held in two phase on November 13 and 20, and the results will be out on November 23, the Election Commission of India announced on October 15. With the announcement of the poll dates, the model code of conduct immediately came into effect in the state. The term of the current assembly will end on January 5, 2025. The Jharkhand assembly has 81 seats (44 General, 9 SC, 28 ST). There are a total of 24 districts in the state. Jharkhand government on Monday approved an increase in payouts in the ongoing ‘Maiyan Samman Yojana’ from Rs 1,000 per month to Rs 2,500 per month. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting on Monday. Under the Maiyan Samman Scheme, the state government is already paying Rs 1,000 per month to 50 lakh women who are 18 years and above in the state since August this year. The increased amount will be given to the beneficiaries starting December. The increase will put a burden of Rs 9,000 crore on the state budget as per government sources. The decision has been taken to counter the Gogo Didi Scheme announced in the BJP manifesto in which the party has promised to pay Rs 2,100 per month to women above 18 years after coming to power.

Election Commission of India is set to announce Jharkhand and Maharashtra election schedule on Tuesday at 3:30pm, following the conclusion of polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. The current term for the Maharashtra assembly ends on November 26, while the Jharkhand assembly will complete its term on January 5, 2025. In the 2019 elections, Jharkhand conducted polling in five phases, whereas Maharashtra had just one phase. Given the successful conduct of recent elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the commission may implement a quicker polling process in Jharkhand this time around.

CDPQ is set to acquire five build-operate-transfer (BOT) toll road assets of Ashoka Concessions, a subsidiary of highway builder Ashoka Buildcon, for an enterprise value of ₹4,500 crore, said people aware of the matter. The deal will be signed this week, the people said, adding the assets will be bought by CDPQ through its infrastructure trust-Indian Highway Concession Trust (IHCT).
