Both countries would focus on increasing market access, reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, enhancing supply chain integration and resolving bilateral trade issues,” Prasada said. In a separate reply, he said recently, the government has not taken any such steps to lift ban on import of certain prohibited and restricted products from USA, China and UK.

The growth capital will help ORIX India scale its leasing and mobility solutions businesses under ORIX Corporation India Ltd while also driving the growth of its financial services portfolio under ORIX Leasing and Financial Services (OLFS), the wholly-owned subsidiary of ORIX Corporation India Ltd, it said. The investment will also support key initiatives including digital transformation, infrastructure enhancement and sustainability-driven initiatives such as green mobility and EV leasing, the company said.

Of the total, Hyundai also plans to invest $9 billion by 2028 to boost U.S. production capacity to 1.2 million vehicles in the United States and $6 billion to expand strategic partnerships with U.S. companies in autonomous driving, robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced air mobility, the company said. Hyundai Motor plans to hold an opening ceremony for its new $7.59 billion car and battery factory in Georgia on Wednesday. The automaker has a factory in Alabama, while its affiliate Kia has a plant in Georgia. The two older plants can produce 700,000 vehicles a year and the new Georgia plant will have a 300,000-vehicle production capacity when fully operational. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry had travelled to South Korea in October and met with Hyundai to discuss the investment plan.

5G data consumption in India has peaked to 40 GB per user per month and its total subscriber base is expected to grow by 2.65 times to around 770 million in the next three years, telecom gear firm Nokia said on Thursday. The mix of data consumption across 4G, 5G etc has increased by compounded annual growth rate of 19.5 per cent over five years to 27.5 GB in 2024, Nokia's annual mobile broadband index (MBiT) report said. According to the report, there was a remarkable three-fold year-on-year surge in 5G data traffic across India in 2024. «Average 5G data consumption in India per user was recorded at 40 GB in December 2024. We expect the 5G user base to grow to around 770 million by 2028 from 290 million in 2024,» Nokia India, Head of Technology and Solutions (Mobile Networks), Sandeep Saxena said during the report launch.
