IND vs BAN Live Score 1st Test Day 4: India on the cusp on victory; Ashwin - Jadeja in focus
IND vs BAN Live Score 1st Test Day 4: Rohit Sharma led team India are just 6 wickets away from a hard-fought victory against the visitors at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. While India are generally known to perform well on their home turf, this win will perhaps mean a little more to the skipper after the defeat they suffered in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

China testing us, Joe Biden caught telling Quad leaders on hot mic
Biden was caught on a hot mic telling leaders of the Quad nations that China was testing them, thus reflecting upon the American seriousness of the emerging Chinese threat. Biden's remark came during the Quad Leaders' Summit on Saturday, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. «We believe Xi Jinping is looking to focus on domestic economic challenges and minimise the turbulence in China,» Biden told the leaders at the Summit. His opening remarks were caught on the hot mic as pool reporters were leaving the Summit venue. Biden was heard saying that Chinese President Xi Jinping is «looking to buy himself some diplomatic space, in my view, to aggressively pursue China's interest.»

Three Chepaukmunks: Pant, Gill and Ashwin shine on Day 3 to help India take dominant position in the first Test against Bangladesh
India played model Test cricket on the third day of the first Test and put Bangladesh in the shade. First there was the calm batting of Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill, respectful of the bowlers and the conditions and then came Ravichandran Ashwin, showing off his skill to ensure that India moved the game forward. There was an air of inevitably over the hundreds Pant and Gill scored. For Pant, it was obviously a significant ton — his sixth — in the context of his life and the challenges he has faced over the last two years. It was an innings he was going to remember for a long time to come. Gill, while complementing Pant, understood that his role was slightly different. Gill needed to get some serious runs under his belt and the calm and collected manner in which he went about the task was pleasing on the eye.

political controversy. Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused his predecessor and bete-noire Jagan Mohan Reddy of using animal fat-adulterated ghee in these cardamom flavoured laddoos. The controversy, which has strong religious overtones since Reddy is a devout Christian, has brought the tender process followed by Reddy's erstwhile government and non-existent adulteration checks at Tirupati in sharp focus. ET deconstructs the politics behind the religious controversy.

Suresh Prabhu for setting up food testing labs at 'prasadam' distribution spots amid Tirupati laddu row
Suresh Prabhu on Saturday called for setting up food testing labs by FSSAI at all public places where 'prasadam' is distributed to ensure quality, amid the Tirupati laddu row. The cost of these testing labs can easily be borne by organisations who run such mass feeding programmes, he said. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's claim that animal fat was used in Tirupati laddus during the previous government triggered a massive political row, with the YSRCP accusing Naidu of indulging in «heinous allegations» for political gains and the TDP circulating a lab report to back its claim. «To address issues arising out of #TirupatiPrasadam we must ensure at all public places where #Prasadam #food is distributed @fssaiindia set up food testing labs to ensure food distribution is in line with expectations of general public/ devotees, conforms to desired quality,» Prabhu said in a post on social media platform X.

Tirupati Laddu Beef Tallow Controversy: Amul says its not involved in supplying ghee to Tirupati
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). In a statement on September 20, Amul clarified, “We wish to clarify that Amul has never supplied ghee to TTD.” The company further emphasized that their ghee is made from high-quality milk in ISO-certified facilities. These rumors surfaced after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous administration under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of using substandard ingredients, including animal fat, in making the sacred Tirupati laddoos. Naidu claimed that even the revered Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati was not exempt from these practices.

India in box seat after Jasprit Bumrah takes four against Bangladesh
India could have enforced the follow on, such was their dominance, but there was no need to, with all the time in the world left in the Test match. At 81 for 3, a lead of 308, with plenty of batting to come there really is only one way this Test match is headed. Ravichandran Ashwin only pushed on to 113 but Ravindra Jadeja missing a century, nicking off on 86, was the highlight of the morning. India pushed on to 376, a score that looked unlikely at one stage, but they then made it count.

Kim Jong Un calls for bolstering nuclear and conventional weapons after testing 2 types of missiles
North Korea said Thursday that leader Kim Jong Un supervised successful tests of two types of missiles — one designed to carry a «super-large conventional warhead» and the other likely for a nuclear warhead, as he ordered officials to bolster up his country's military capabilities to repel U.S.-led threats. The tests were apparent references to the multiple missile launches that neighboring countries said North Korea performed off its east coast on Wednesday, extending its run of weapons display as confrontations with the U.S. and South Korea escalate. The official Korean Central News Agency said that Kim oversaw the launch of the country's newly built Hwasongpho-11-Da-4.5 ballistic missile tipped with a dummy «4.5-ton super-large conventional warhead.» It said the test-firing was meant to verify an ability to accurately hit a 320 kilometer (200 mile)-range target, suggesting it's a weapon aimed at striking sites in South Korea.
