Basha's chilling cover-up was uncovered during the investigation when police discovered that 45-year-old Uzma Khan had been poisoned with lethal poison in her food, while he had consumed non-lethal toilet cleaner to mislead authorities.
Basha resides in the Spice Garden area near Marathahalli, while Uzma is from Kacharakanahalli.
The two, who happen to be relatives, had got separated from their respective spouses eight years ago and were in a relationship. Their families had initiated discussions on getting them married, but the proposal fell through because of personal reasons. However, Basha and Uzma were in touch with each other.
