growth in its profitability in the third quarter ended December 2024 even as the annual premium equivalent (APE) is expected to see a decline.
Emkay Global estimates a profit growth of 5% YoY to Rs 9908 crore, while APE may witness 19% drop to Rs 10,686 crore.
In the recent second quarter, LIC reported a 4% decline in its standalone net profit at Rs 7,621 crore for the quarter ended September 2024.
Net premium income during the same period increased 11% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1.19 lakh crore, compared with Rs 1.07 lakh crore in the previous year. Income from investments during the second quarter rose 16% YoY to Rs 1.08 lakh crore.
LIC's share price is currently experiencing a downtrend and has entered stage four of the stock cycle. Analysts say this phase is characterized by a shift from the factors that previously supported the stock's price during the topping phase to the fatigue and pressures brought on by anxious sellers.
