Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is contemplating ending his campaign to potentially ally with former President Donald Trump. As per the reports of Yahoo news, Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy's vice presidential candidate, revealed in a recent interview that they might withdraw from the race to support Trump.
Shanahan highlighted that running as independents could divide votes and benefit Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming election. They are considering whether to merge with Trump's campaign or drop out entirely. The decision timeline has not been disclosed.
Donald Trump expressed openness to Kennedy's potential support. In an interview, Trump stated on CNN that he respects Kennedy and would welcome him to join his administration if Kennedy decides to exit the presidential race. Trump noted his long acquaintance with Kennedy and complimented his intelligence. He mentioned he was unaware of Kennedy's potential withdrawal but would be receptive if Kennedy chose to endorse him.
