Sindhu Gangadharan, senior vice president and managing director of SAP Labs India has been appointed as vice chairperson of IT industry lobby group National Association of Software and Service Companies (nasscom).
The announcement comes a week after Cognizant India's chairman and managing director Rajesh Nambiar, chairman and managing director was named as its chairperson. He was succeeding Anant Maheshwari, former president, Microsoft India, in the role. This means Gangadharan will assume the top chairperson role in the next cycle.
“Nasscom has played a pivotal role in helping accelerate India’s transition into the innovation hub for the world. India, powered by its engineering R&D prowess, growing scientific capabilities and large talent base, holds immense potential to drive large-scale digital transformation that is sustainable and accessible to all. I am excited to contribute to this journey,” said Gangadharan, speaking on her appointment. Earlier this year, Gangadharanwas appointed as chairperson of the Nasscom GCC Council 2023-25. The tech executive also serves on the board of organizations including Siemens India and Titan Company.
As the first woman to lead SAP Labs India--the parent company's largest R&D center globally, Gangadharan oversees the product development and innovation at all five centres – Bengaluru, Gurugram, Pune, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
