The Photo That Sparked the Remark
During a recent interview with Mashable India, Anupam was shown a photo from Shark Tank India Season 1, taken during the cast's appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati with Amitabh Bachchan. The image included the original panel of judges: Ashneer Grover, Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, and Vineeta Singh.
Upon seeing the photo, Anupam remarked, “Oh, this is from KBC. I know this photo is from Season 1 because some of the sharks aren’t with us. May their soul rest in peace.”
While Anupam's comment was made lightheartedly, it was a clear reference to Ashneer's departure from the show after the first season. This isn’t the first time Anupam has taken a dig at his former colleague, and it adds to the ongoing tension between the two.
Amid the playful jibe, Anupam also took a moment to reflect on the significance of their KBC appearance. Recalling the intimidating experience of meeting Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan for the first time, he shared, “This was the first time we were on KBC, and it was very intimidating for us because Mr. Bachchan is a living legend.
We had only watched KBC as fans until that point. It was a dream come true to meet him and hear him call us by our names. It is a highlight in our Shark Tank India journey over the last four years.”
