Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.25% in a weak market
Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.21 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.97 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.65 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.25 per cent at 44628.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 3.6 points at 19807.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 32.3 points at 66440.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato, MMTC, JP Power and Infibeam Avenues were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
