Tata Consultancy(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers. HCL Technologies(down 1.07 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.96 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.95 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.91 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.81 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.44 per cent at 29674.35 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 75.65 points at 19421.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 211.25 points at 65574.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Reliance Power, PNB and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
