Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls
GE Power India Limited(up 12.21%), KEC International(up 9.13%), Jyoti Structures(up 4.98%), Reliance Power(up 3.82%), Orient Green Power Company(up 3.24%), RTNPOWER(up 1.92%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.62%), Hitachi Energy India(up 1.02%), KPI Green Energy(up 0.93%) and CESC(up 0.91%) were among the top gainers. Indo Tech Transformers(down 2.40%), Indowind Energy(down 1.81%), NHPC(down 1.73%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.30%), PTC India(down 1.28%), NTPC(down 1.18%), Tata Power Company(down 1.15%), SJVN(down 1.14%), ADANIGREEN(down 0.83%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 0.75%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 107.45 points down at 19626.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 346.42 points at 66112.89 at around 10:04AM. Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.69%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.56%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.51%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.34%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.23%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.23%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.17%), Nestle India(up 0.14%), Infosys(up 0.12%) and Asian Paints(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
