Donald Trump is currently facing the heat in a state that was in July, being considered a sure-shot winning region for the former US President, when Joe Biden was still the candidate for the Democrats. According to the CooK Political Report, Joe Biden was nearly 7 points behind Trump when the reigning President simply dropped out of the poll race and endorsed Kamala Harris in his place instead.
North Carolina votes lining up for Kamala Harris?
It looks like North Carolina votes, which were earlier predicted to go to Trump's haul, is slowly changing course, and landing up on Harris' table instead, suggests the Cook Political Report. According to them, NC looks a very competitive zone as of now, since Harris, whose predecessor was trailing by a massive range of points, is now closing in on Trump, and slowly getting past him.
Biden had not won NC in 2020
During the last US polls, Joe Biden, the winning candidate of the Democrats, had not been able to secure North Carolina, which had gone to Donald Trump, even though most of the odds were against the billionaire businessman and former US President. This clearly shows that Trump has a strong base in North Carolina, which Harris has been able to mobilize and influence successfully, if the poll surveys are indeed to be believed.
