Donald Trump's chances of winning the November election are growing. This was predicted before the presidential debate. With a 60.1 percent chance of winning the Electoral College, Silver's prediction from last week gave Trump his best chance of winning since the end of July. Kamala Harris had a 39.7 percent chance. The forecast indicates that since then, Trump's chances of winning have grown, with a 64.4 percent chance to Harris' 35.3 percent in the Electoral College.
The model also reveals that the Republicans have made a comeback in each of the swing states within the last week, with the increase varying from 0. 3 to 1.2. The former president is expected to win all seven swing states, or so-called battleground states. The model predicted that both Harris and Trump would be equally close in Wisconsin and Michigan last week. It also shows that while Harris will garner 256 electoral votes to Trump’s 282, the likelihood that she will sweep all of it in terms of popular vote share has slightly lessened from 58 to 56 %.
