Plot
«Vought Rising» will take place in 1950s New York. Jensen Ackles announced the prequel during «The Boys» Comic-Con panel. Ackles called it a «lurid pulp saga prequel.» He also confirmed his return for «The Boys» fifth and final season, following his cameo in the Season 4 finale.
What Creator and Showrunner Said
Eric Kripke, creator of «The Boys,» and Paul Grellong, showrunner of «Vought Rising,» released a statement. They described the new series as a twisted murder mystery about Vought's origins in the 1950s. It will follow the early exploits of Soldier Boy and Stormfront, known then as Clara Vought. They promised a salacious, grisly saga filled with blood and Compound V.

Comic-Con Panel
«The Boys» Comic-Con panel took place a week after the Season 4 finale aired on July 18. Participants included Kripke and cast members Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Tomer Capone, Laz Alonso, Antony Starr, Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Susan Heyward, and Valorie Curry. Jensen Ackles made a surprise appearance, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan moderated the panel.
