Associated Press reported that Key states like Arizona, North Carolina, Michigan and Nevada are being targeted through advertisements over radio and events featuring prominent figures. Prominent figures like US Senator Markwayne Mullin while campaigning in the native communities are eventually discussing energy policies and the requirement for federal recognition of various tribes like the Lumbee.

US Vice President Kamala Harris has put major emphasis on issues such as treaty rights and tribal sovereignty during her campaign messaging which are being backed by substantial advertisement campaign. Whereas on the other hand, former US President Donald Trump’s campaign has been on the receiving end of criticisms for lacking targeted outreach towards the Native Americans, noted Associated Press.
Some recent events also include US President Joe Biden’s formal apology for historical injustices against the Native Americans which was eventually well received by the tribal leaders. Associated Press asserted that while on one hand, numerous native voters expressed skepticism regarding Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s promises on federal recognition, on the other hand, numerous people also feel that his business background might be beneficial for tribal governance.
