Conservatives party headed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Various national surveys have predicted a massive defeat for the party. Voters in the UK will cast their vote to elect their representatives to the House of Commons which is the lower house of the British Parliament on July 4. Further, one of the surveys has predicted that many sitting Ministers are expected to lose the elections from their own constituencies. The party has been in power since 2010 and the anti-incumbency seems to be catching up with the party.
Surveys:
The survey conducted by the YouGov reveals that the Conservatives will be reduced to just 108 MPs in a house of 650 MPs. They won 257 seats in 2019. The Labour party is expected to sweep the elections with a massive victory by winning 425 seats. For the Conservatives, this will be their worst performance in 200 years. The survey also has revealed that the other parties such as Liberal Democrats will win 67 seats and the Scottish National Party will win just 20 seats.
The Reform UK Party of Nigel Farage is expected to win five seats while the Green Party is expected to win two seats. This is the second survey conducted by YouGov ever since Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for an early election.
