Manickam Tagore on Friday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and urged him to expunge the remarks made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey over Congress leaders in the Lower House, terming them «derogatory» and «disparaging.» The Congress MP said that the remarks made by Nishikant Dubey during Zero Hour on December 12 were utterly 'disparaging and derogatory.' He claimed that the content of almost the entire matter raised by Dubey was unacceptable and also in gross violation of the provisions of Rule 352 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha.

Parliament Attack. Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the form of more questions to Rahul Gandhi (who was not present), Dubey asked: «What relations do the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Sonia Gandhi have with FDL-AP (Forum of Democratic Leaders in the Asia-Pacific ), which considers Kashmir as a separate country? The FDL-AP is funded by Soros. What is the relation between Soros and Sonia Gandhi? Sam Pitroda, Chairman of the Overseas Friends of Congress, runs the Global Knowledge Initiative which is also funded by Soros, and the Global Knowledge Initiative and Pitroda bore the expenditure of Rahul Gandhi's tours to the US, where he met Khalistanis… What is the relation of Rahul Gandhi, Pitroda, Soros and Global Knowledge Initiative?» The Congress MPs protested against Dubey's allegations, and in the din, the Chair adjourned the House.

The BJP alleged on Thursday that the US deep state colluded with the media portal OCCRP (Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project) and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to «damage» India's image. The BJP had cited Gandhi's use of reports by OCCRP to attack the Adani Group and to accuse it of having closeness with the government.

Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said while the Narendra Modi government is hiking the rates of the income tax and other taxes for the common man, it is giving concessions to billionaires, and claimed that it is set to introduce another slab of the GST to burden people. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday demanded financial support for the people of landslides-hit Wayanad in Kerala and sought to know the action plan of the government for the area. The disaster, which struck on July 30, devastated large parts of three villages --Punchirimattam, Chooralmala, and Mundakkai — along with sections of Attamala in Wayanad. As per the government, the deadly disaster claimed 231 lives. Speaking with reporters outside Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi said, «People of Wayanad have not received financial support. They have gotten very little support.»

Reacting sharply, BJP IT department head Amit Malviya wrote on X, «Your attempt to paint a picture of economic doom, with selective data and half-truths is not just misleading but reeks of 'Balak Buddhi' — a childish oversimplification of complex realities». He said crying foul over a 5.4 per cent GDP growth rate by the Congress leader is «laughable when it is one of the highest globally».

Himachal Pradesh government is again in a tight spot for issuing notices to a state roadways conductor and driver after an audio clip with defamatory remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was allegedly played in their bus. A man in his complaint to the Chief Minister's Office said defamatory words were used against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders in an audio clip which was played in the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus plying between Shimla and Sanjauli on November 5. In a letter to the conductor and driver of the bus on November 25, the HRTC sought explanation from them. The letter went viral on the internet.

In Andhra Pradesh, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu struck a cautious note when he informed the assembly that the government would study the charges that were in public domain and act on them. In Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, in a chat with the media in Mysuru, said the Centre must take steps to have Adani arrested, and the high-profile businessman must not be allowed to escape. “The entire country knows who is protecting Adani,” he said, while blaming the media for not highlighting it.

Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on who will head the next government with constituents in both camps laying claim over the chief minister's post. After polling for the 288-member assembly ended on Wednesday evening, the ruling as well as opposition fronts started claiming that mandate will be in their favour when votes are counted on November 23. Soon after polling, state Congress chief Nana Patole asserted a MVA government will be formed in Maharashtra under the leadership of his party. BJP president J P Nadda on Sunday attacked the JMM-led coalition government in Jharkhand, accusing it of sheltering Bangladeshi infiltrators in madrasas in the state and ensuring Aadhaar, voter ID card, gas connection, ration card and land for them. Nadda also hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying he wants to become champion of OBCs, but questioned how many OBC members were in Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and National Advisory Committee. «I have received an intelligence report just now. It says that Bangladeshi infiltrators are given shelter in madrasas here. Their Aadhaar, voter ID, gas connection and ration card are facilitated and then the Hemant Soren government ensures land for them. »Hemant Soren looted 'Jal, Jungle, Jameen' of Jharkhand, infiltration is rampant here. Infiltrators are marrying tribal women and grabbing their land. We will bring a legislation to ensure that their offspring is debarred from land. Only PM Modi-led BJP government can check infiltration," Nadda said while addressing a poll rally at Gomia in Bokaro district.

Sharad Pawar's bags were checked by the poll personnel at Baramati helipad in Maharashtra's Pune district on Sunday morning, according to his associate. Pawar was on way to attend a poll rally in Solapur, the associate said. The model of code of conduct is enforced in the state for the assembly elections scheduled on November 20. «While Pawar saheb was on his way to Karmala poll rally in Solapur, his bags were checked at the Baramati helipad. After the due checking, he boarded the chopper and proceeded for the rally,» the associate said.

Rahul Gandhi compared Prime Minister to US President Joe Biden on Saturday, saying both have 'memory' challenges. «My sister was telling me that she heard Modi ji's speech where he has been speaking the same thing that we have been speaking all along. I don't know, maybe he has memory loss. Like the former US President of America (Biden) used to say something here and there. He had to be reminded from behind that you should not be speaking this, you need to be speaking this,» said Gandhi. He added, " There the Ukraine President had come (to visit Biden in the US) and the US President spoke of the Russian President Putin had come, then people from behind had to tell him that it was the Ukraine President who had arrived, he (Biden) had a memory loss. Similarly our Prime Minister is suffering from memory loss. I don't know he might even come and claim that the state government is giving you Rs 7,000 per quintal on Soybean," said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a campaign rally in Amravati.
