Off-roading mania sweeps India: Thrill-seekers conquer challenging terrain
Surgery and off-road driving are so similar,” says Dr Vani Parmar, 62, who recently retired as professor of breast surgical oncology from the Tata Memorial Centre, Khargar, Mumbai. “Both fields require precision, quick reaction times and an ability to handle challenging situations.” A mammoplasty may be slightly different from a slushy drive for some, but both are Parmar’s deep passions. While she continues to work as a breast cancer surgeon, she also finds time to get behind the wheels of her Mahindra Thar.

Chronicle of a team foretold: Loving RCB is like running into a computer problem again and again
The great saint said this almost 800 years ago. The Bhagavad Gita says one of the ways of reaching the supreme state is through Bhakti Yoga, or the path of devotion. About 61 years ago, the Beatles sang, “All you need is love”. In recent times, if you want to see the real path of love you need to be a fan of the IPL cricket franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). For most part of the last 16 years, since the IPL started, RCB have resembled a UPSC aspirant who makes it to the interview stage but doesn’t get selected.

PlayStation 5/4, Xbox X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC video games this week: Full list, release dates, key details
PlayStation 5/4, Xbox X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android and PC users will have new video games to play this week. Here are two new video games that will be released this week for gamers. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice rattled unsuspecting gamers in 2017 with a story in which the scariest monsters may or may not have sprung from the protagonist’s own psychosis. Things haven't gotten much easier for her as "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" video game begins — it’s not like mental health care was a high priority among the Vikings in 10th century Iceland. Still, Senua is determined to rescue “those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny,” though the question remains: Can she do it without losing her mind? British developer Ninja Theory is promising a 'brutal' follow-up to one of the most haunting and nerve-racking games in history, so consider yourself warned, as per a report on AP report.

Who is Nancy Tyagi? This designer from UP spent 30 days to create her red-carpet gown for Cannes
Cannes Film Festival? Fashion influencer Nancy Tyagi turned heads in a beautiful frilly pink gown that made her look like a princess straight from a Disney animated movie! However, this is not the sole reason why her Cannes look has gone viral. The young fashion designer has become the first artiste attending the prestigious film festival to create her own red carpet look and attire from scratch! The delicate, pink dress, which reportedly is created from more than 1,000 metres of fabric, was a labour of love and took Tyagi over a month to create! Taking to Instagram, Tyagi wrote, “Stepping onto the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival as a debutant feels surreal. I poured my heart and soul into creating this pink gown, which took 30 days, 1000 meters of fabric, and weighs over 20kg. The journey has been intense, but every moment was worth it. I'm overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for the love and support from all of you. This is a dream come true, and I hope my creation dazzles you as much as your support has inspired me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

Late Telugu actor Chandrakanth Challa’s last Instagram posts reflected his state of anguish at losing his wife Pavithra Jayaram
Instagram posts of @chandrakanth_artist will give you the same sensation as watching a trainwreck. The final posts of the ‘Trinayani’ star Chandrakanth Challa, leave you with a sense of foreboding. A mere three days after his wife and ‘Trinayani’ co-star Pavithra Jayaram passed away, the actor committed suicide. He was discovered dead in his residence in Telangana on May 15. In a statement to the police, Challa’s father revealed that his son had been in a state of depression for the last few days. The actor’s despondency is evident from his penultimate posts. It consisted of reminiscing about his time with Jayaram and long, eloquent posts about the late actress and the void she left in his life. His last post was a cute selfie with the late actress that read, “Good morning nana… It’s time for gym… Just our coach called (crying emojis)… I love you papa..”. In the preceding post, he shared a montage of the late actress and left a cryptic message, asking her to “wait” for two more-days. After the news of his death broke on the Internet, netizens flooded the comment section, mourning the loss of the two stars and lamenting at why they did not notice the caption.

INDIA bloc will win Lok Ssabha polls, BJP will not even cross 200 seats, says Mamata
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Saturday claimed that the INDIA bloc will come to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and BJP will «not cross the 200 mark» in the polls. She accused Congress, and CPI(M) of having entered into a nexus with BJP in the state to discredit the state government and asked the electorate not to vote for any non-TMC parties which will benefit the saffron camp. Addressing an election rally at Goghat under the Arambagh Lok Sabha constituency, Banerjee said «I had coined the name INDIA and at the national level we the coalition partners are all working together to resist the autocratic, demonic Narendra Modi government. TMC will play its role in installing the INDIA bloc to power.» «See what Modi is telling now — he is no more making tall '400 paar' seats by BJP. He can read the writing on the wall already. BJP will not cross even 200 tally. BJP will bite the dust,» she said.

Of princess, pastel flowers and homegrown slow luxury brand, 'Akutee'
hand painted or hand embroidered, they would have been a family secret of the Ghatge royal women — a princess lovingly embellishing the clothes of her loved ones. But thanks to cricketer Zaheer Khan's astute business sense, it turned into a homegrown "slow luxury" brand, 'Akutee'. «Hand painted embellishments have been part of my childhood, my mum's been doing this for so long that I took it for granted. But my husband (Zaheer Khan) encouraged me to make it into a bespoke collection,» said Sagarika Ghatge, actor, model and former national-level hockey champ, who runs the label along with her mother, Urmila Ghatge.
