Darshan prison smoking photo leak: How an internal rivalry led to the expose
The Origins of the Leak
The Time of India has reported that according to police sources, the photograph and video were likely leaked due to internal rivalries among the rowdy-sheeters inside the prison. A long-standing rivalry between Wilson Garden Naga and Cycle Ravi, whose close aide Bakery Raghu is also incarcerated at Bengaluru Central Prison, is believed to be at the heart of this issue.
Raghu had been close to Darshan, especially during the actor’s time in judicial custody in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. During this period, Raghu reportedly ensured that Darshan received special treatment, including access to various comforts that are typically unavailable to other inmates.
However, this special treatment became a point of contention when Naga, allegedly under the instructions of a politician, began providing Darshan with similar privileges. Naga’s growing proximity to the actor angered Raghu and his associates, who decided to retaliate by exposing Naga’s actions.
As part of this plan, Raghu allegedly convinced one of Naga’s associates to secretly photograph and record Darshan’s activities within the prison. These images and videos were then circulated on WhatsApp, leading to the public scandal.
