DHL courier delivery scams. In the past few days reports of this scam have surfaced as far as Ireland, Singapore and India. The worst thing about this scam is that fraudsters have managed to copy the style, font, tone, language and even the exact shade of yellow colour used by DHL. Now DHL being a global courier maintains consistency in their public communication, hence this new scam has become widespread.
How the DHL delivery QR code scam starts
If you ever used any courier services then you must know that whenever the order could not be delivered the courier guys would call you or if you are unreachable they leave a missed delivery note. The same process is followed by DHL also. The DHL missed delivery note has a QR code and instructions about what steps to take to arrange an alternative delivery attempt.
This note (as can be seen below) is the aspect which these fraudsters targeted. You see DHL uses a common template for this missed delivery note which is the size of a medium postcard. The genuine DHL missed delivery note will have a QR code and weblink to redirect you to the official DHL website and not any other website. If you are redirected to any other website other than DHL immediately close your browser and contact DHL. Also, remember DHL will never charge money for re-arranging a delivery, so if you are asked to pay then you know it's fake and not a real DHL website.
