Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

Nakoda Group(up 3.58%), Heritage Foods(up 1.91%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 1.62%), Britannia Industries(up 1.52%), Bikaji Foods International(up 1.48%), Emami(up 1.13%), P & G Hygiene(up 1.01%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.98%), Nestle India(up 0.87%) and Jyothy Labs(up 0.76%) stood among the top gainers. Dangee Dums(down 3.85%), Sheetal Cool Products(down 3.47%), Marico(down 2.01%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.55%), Vadilal Industries(down 1.54%), Varun Beverages(down 1.43%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.79%), Patanjali Foods(down 0.68%), Parag Milk(down 0.62%) and Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.16%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 98.8 points up at 19497.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 339.6 points at 65785.64. Mahindra & Mahindra(up 4.98%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 4.05%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.73%), Tata Motors(up 2.13%), Reliance Industries(up 2.1%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.75%), NTPC(up 1.73%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.6%), Britannia Industries(up 1.52%) and Axis Bank(up 1.5%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
