The first teaser for «The Day of the Jackal» was shown during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. Eddie Redmayne portrays a lone assassin, known as the Jackal, who takes on high-paying assassination contracts. The teaser features Redmayne's character transforming into various disguises, sniping targets from rooftops, and rappelling off buildings. A woman's voice questions his identity, and Redmayne's character responds, «You know who I am.»
The series focuses on the Jackal, a contract killer who makes a living by carrying out hits for a high fee. After his latest kill, he encounters a determined British intelligence officer, played by Lashana Lynch. This officer begins to track him down, leading to a thrilling chase across Europe. The series promises intense scenes and a gripping storyline.

Eddie Redmayne also serves as an executive producer for the series, alongside writer Ronan Bennett and director Brian Kirk. Other executive producers include Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant for Carnival Films, Sam Hoyle
