Vistara has said that it will provide 20 minutes of complimentary Wi-Fi on its international flights operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A321neo aircraft. This makes Vistara the first Indian airline to offer free Wi-Fi to its passengers.

The free Wi-Fi access will be available across all cabins, allowing passengers to stay connected and purchase additional Wi-Fi time using Indian credit or debit cards, the company said in a statement Saturday.
Vistara's international flights offer wireless connectivity powered by Panasonic Avionics, enabling internet access on Wi-Fi-enabled devices at 35,000 feet. Passengers can access emails, information, and social media.
In addition to the complimentary Wi-Fi, Vistara offers paid Wi-Fi plans. Club Vistara members can access a free chat facility throughout the flight. For others, Rs 372.74 plus GST will be charged for chatting on messaging apps with unlimited data.
To surf the internet onboard, the airline has set a price of Rs 1577.54 plus GST for embedded audio and video streaming. For Rs 2707.04 plus GST, customers get unlimited data.
«We believe this added amenity will enhance the overall travel experience for our customers,» Deepak Rajawat, chief commercial official of the airline, said in the statement.
